Days 1

Arrival at Manaus airport in the afternoon. Meet & greet by our local guide. Transfer in a/c vehicle to the dock of the hotel where guests will board a typical river boat and cruise up to the Amazon Ecopark Lodge Welcome reception by the friendly staff who will meet you with refreshing Amazonian fruit juices and dry snacks. Afterwards, you will be shown to your room. 4:00pm: depart lodge in motorized canoes to “Monkey Forest" (a project sponsored by the Living Rainforest Foundation), whose main goal is to return the forest monkeys found in the illegal wildlife commerce. They receive medical treatment and are given time to become acclimated to the region before being released into the wild. The monkeys are fed twice a day once at 11 am and the next at 4pm. You may take pictures and film the rare monkeys under the supervision of the specialized staff. (Finishes at the Lodge) 7:30pm: dinner will be served buffet style at the main restaurant (featuring delicious local fish, beef and poultry + hot side dishes, assorted salads, typical desserts and fresh tropical fruits). After dinner, in motorized canoes, you will be invited to enjoy the sounds of the night in the jungle. You will also go alligator spotting (guides will try to catch them and examine them). Days 2

07:00am: Brazilian buffet breakfast (including breads, cakes, ham, cheese, fruit juices, regional dishes & fresh fruits) 09:00am: Everyone will be gathered in order to start introduction to the "Jungle survival training". You will be accompanied by the bilingual guide(s) and by the lodge’s staff. They will depart on treks through the jungle(first aid kits and compasses are available) You will learn how to build different types of shelters, traps (for hunting and survival in the jungle) using natural resources from the jungle (palm tree leaves, vines, etc)You will also learn about the extraction and curing of latex. There will be a "tapiri" (straw shelter) built with the native rubber workers belongings. The technique of extracting the latex will be shown as well as the entire process of curing. During the trek you will also learn how to make fire and find water from natural resources of the jungle. You will learn what can be eaten or not, basic orientation in the jungle. Lunch and dinner will consist of sandwiches, fruits, bbq chicken and/or piranhas and soup. Overnight in the jungle (sleep in hammocks protected by "tapiris" (tatched roof)

Days 3

Breakfast in the jungle (again picnic style). After breakfast, return to the lodge. Free time for resting, or just relax at the natural swimming pools 12:30pm: lunch will be served buffet style at the main restaurant (featuring delicious local fish, beef and poultry + hot side dishes, assorted salads, typical desserts and fresh tropical fruits). 3:00pm: depart lodge in motorized canoes to visit a native dwelling ("caboclos") to learn about the customs and way of life of these native inhabitants, Indian descendants. Next, you will go piranha fishing 7:30pm: dinner will be served buffet style at the main restaurant (Featuring delicious local fish, beef and poultry + hot side dishes, assorted salads, typical desserts and fresh tropical fruits). Overnight at Amazon Ecopark Lodge

Days 4

7:00am: Brazilian buffet breakfast (including breads, cakes, ham, cheese, fruit juices, regional dishes & fresh fruits) 08:30am: full day tour. Experience the highlights of the Amazon on a typical river boat. Tour to the meeting of the waters (the black "Negro" River and the brown Solimões River meet and run together for miles without mixing until they finally merge to form the actual Amazon River). Lunch buffet style featuring regional dishes Right after lunch optional piranha fishing tour in the lake behind the restaurant Return to the lodge by 6pm 07:30pm: dinner will be served buffet style at the main restaurant (featuring delicious local fish, beef and poultry + hot side dishes, assorted salads, typical desserts and fresh tropical fruits). Days 5

Morning at leisure for individual activities 11:30a.m: check-out and depart lodge. Flight to Rio de Janeiro. Upon arrival in Rio de Janeiro you will be met by our uniformed bilingual guides and escorted to the motor coaches. These exclusive vehicles are all deluxe, with air-conditioning and stereo sound systems. Our trained guides will give a brief overview of Rio de Janeiro during the 20/30 minutes drive to the Hotel Luxor Regente. You will enter the hotel through the special group entrance where you will be welcomed by hotel’s staff with a welcome drink. In the evening, you will participate in the welcome dinner at Luxor's restaurant, enjoying the fantastic menu created by one of the best Chefs in Rio de Janeiro. Overnight at Luxor Continental Hotel

Days 6

After breakfast, you will go for a Half Day Tour visiting the Corcovado A Must on every itinerary, this tour features one of the true wonders of the world, the 120 foot statue of Christ the Redeemer atop the Corcovado (hunchback) mountain. Drive through the Laranjeiras residential district and quaint Cosme Velho to the Corcovado train station where guests will board the cogwheel train for a 15 minutes ride up the mountain to the statue's base. Once there, at an elevation of 2,400 feet, you will marvel at the construction sculpture features and outstretched arms spreading above the spectacular panorama of Rio de Janeiro; the beaches, the Guanabara Bay, buildings and bridges - fanning out in a magnificent 360 degree panoramic view. Days 7

Morning at leisure Lunch on your own Afternoon – visit H Stern Museum H. Stern is the largest Brazilian producer and distributor of aquamarines, emeralds, topazes, amethysts and tourmalines. The company is directly involved in the various phases of gem and jewelry production and is one of the very few jewelry concerns in the world that is truly vertically integrated: from gem prospecting to cutting, designing, crafting and marketing jewels in Brazil and abroad. H. Stern’s clients will always enjoy the same professional level of service. H. Stern’s headquarters in Rio de Janeiro is also an art culture center. On the third floor a space was specially projected to house the H. Stern museum that is open to public and displays a remarkable collection of rare and exotic Brazilian gemstones. The museum also exhibits the largest collection of tourmalines in the world, having more than 1000 top quality stones in a wide range of hues, and with a variety of cuts and sizes. On the same floor, the entire manufacturing cycle of a jewel is display and explained in 18 different languages with the aid of a portable tape records. You will watch H. Stern’s craftsmen at work; you will be able to follow the progress of a piece from the cutting of the rough stone to the polishing of the finished product.
